Abstract

The widespread adoption of mobile and remote work environments has significantly reshaped the field of information assurance, presenting new and complex challenges for securing organizational data assets across highly distributed computing infrastructures. As employees increasingly access sensitive information from varied geographical locations, personal devices, and diverse network environments, traditional perimeter-based security models have proven insufficient for protecting critical resources. This research investigates the security implications of mobile and remote work practices, with particular attention to access control, secure data storage, and the protection of communication channels. The study highlights the limitations of conventional frameworks when applied to distributed systems and introduces advanced approaches such as zero-trust architecture, adaptive authentication mechanisms, and next-generation cryptographic protocols. By examining threat vectors specific to mobile computing—including man-in-the-middle exploits, device-level compromises, and large-scale data exfiltration risks—the paper proposes a new framework for information assurance that incorporates behavioral analytics, quantum-resistant encryption, and distributed ledger technologies. Empirical findings demonstrate that organizations implementing comprehensive mobile security strategies can achieve up to a 78\% reduction in security incidents while preserving operational efficiency. The proposed framework further addresses vulnerabilities in endpoint protection, secure network communications, and data integrity verification, offering practical guidance for organizations undergoing a transition toward remote and mobile work models.
